Thain Roundabout

The City of Lewiston needed to alleviate traffic congestion at a 5-leg intersection which is a key transportation link to the County Fairgrounds and substantial residential population. TD&H evaluated intersection alternatives and completed final design to upgrade the 5-leg intersection along Thain Road. TD&H led a comprehensive public involvement program to gauge public option. The roundabout option was deemed the most beneficial and was selected by the City after weighing public input, functionality, and cost at the recommendation of TD&H. The $1.7 million project was federally funded and administered by the Idaho Transportation Department.
