What You’ll Do
As an Environmental/Industrial Hygiene Technician, you will be responsible for, Investigating, Monitoring, and Remediation of the environment, and assisting clients in complying with State and Federal Regulations. Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct site investigations of soil, ground water, surface water, agricultural sites, buildings, industrial facilities, commercial and military sites.
  • Prepare and organize detailed field notes, technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, scientists, engineers, and clients on multiple projects ensuring timely completion.
  • Help build, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot remedial system equipment and field instruments.
  • Prepare and implement site health and safety plans and interact with client personnel when performing occupational exposure monitoring or indoor air quality assessments.

Project Types
Your work will involve working on projects such as:

  • Environmental Assessments (NEPA)
  • Hazardous Materials Inspections
  • Abatement Clearance Monitoring
  • Brownsfield Projects

What We’re Looking For
The candidate will work under the guidance of experienced Project Managers all holding Professional Engineering licenses or Hazardous Waste Management Certifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, able bodied, highly organized, and eager to contribute to a growing team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in science or engineering field desirable.
  • Computer skills in basic programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Experience with technical software such as Matlab, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, etc. may be useful.
  • Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) licensure is a plus, as this would be a ready path to obtaining Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure. Similar possibilities (e.g. P.G., C.I.H.) also exist in this department.
  • Experience and accreditations or certifications germane to position (e.g. HAZWOPER, asbestos accreditations, lead inspector) a plus.
  • Ability to work safely both supervised and unsupervised in the field in all weather conditions and
  • Proven ability to perform a wide variety of tasks and manage project workload, deadlines, and clients effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clean driving record and able to pass background checks for government and industry sites.
  • Excellent organization and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Experience and proficiency in report writing or ability to become proficient.
  • Ability to think through problems, break down tasks, and prioritize work.
