Project Spotlight: Libby Water Improvements
Location: Libby, MT
The project included replacement of approximately 3,900 feet of select water mains and 260 feet of water services by traditional trench excavation, as well as trenchless methods including jack and bore, directional drilling, and pipe bursting. The project replaces leaking water mains within US Highway 2 and a residential alley, as well as upsizes the existing transmission main from the town’s water tank to the transfer station approximately 100 feet down a steep forested hill side. The work within US Highway 2 was limited to jack and bore crossings and a small section of jack and bore to limit impacts to the travel way. The transmission main replacement work will use directional drilling due to the existing terrain and forest cover. TD&H provided civil design services, contract document production, State DOT and DEQ Agency coordination, construction administration and Inspection.
