The City of Castleford had not evaluated its drinking water system since 1982. Since then, the effects of regulatory changes and deferred maintenance jeopardized the City’s ability to continue its community drinking water system unless the City upgraded the system. The Capital Facility Planning Study Report identified deficiencies and provided solutions to remedy them. Project components included the development of a new well source, development of a 300,000-gallon water storage reservoir with the appurtenant pumps, piping, and telemetry/control systems, the installation, piloting, and operation of a central arsenic treatment system, and the installation of waterlines.
