The existing bridge was structurally deficient and an increasing concern for its structural capacity to carry load. The existing bridge was considered functionally obsolete due to width. TD&H procured funding for the project, completed the environmental permitting, surveying, and design and is in the process of bidding the project. TD&H provided construction management and funding administration services. The project consisted of replacing the existing single span bridge with a prestressed concrete girder structure that was longer and wide enough to provide continuous sidewalk on both sides consistent with roadway approaches on each end.
