Stites Wastewater System Improvements

The City’s wastewater yielded high levels of hydrogen sulfide gas when it entered the treatment facility causing excessive corrosion to the components within the facility. The wastewater system is aged and record documents were incomplete regarding the underground facilities. This project included improvements to the City’s existing lift station, replacement of 4,100 LF of existing sewer main using traditional trenching methods, reconnection of sewer service laterals to the new sewer main, and replacement of 21 manholes. Lift station improvements included electrical system upgrades, installation of a chemical injection system for hydrogen sulfide mitigation, construction of a 20×14-foot pole barn, and replacement of one of two lift station pumps.
