The expansion section of the River’s Edge Trail along 10th Avenue South is now open.
Safety was the inspiration for the addition; the expansion will allow bikers and pedestrians to go from downtown Great Falls to the Marketplace area.
The project started several months ago after about seven years of planning and grant applications.
Organizers say they hope the trail will allow people to walk or bike more instead of driving a car.
“The folks who have seen the construction along 10th Avenue South have been very excited and been asking, ‘Okay, what is it? When is going to be finished? When can we use it?’ And they are aware that it’s part of a bigger picture. It’s part of the trail network,” said Rivers Edge Trail Foundation president John Juras.
This is one of several expansions planned for the River’s Edge Trail. Click here to get the full story from KRTV News
