This opportunity is anticipated to be located in Great Falls, MT but for a well-qualified candidate with a PE license, other Montana locations may be considered.

Your Role:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for managing projects, leading teams, and driving engineering solutions. Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the design and execution of complex mechanical and plumbing projects
- Managing project scope, schedule, and budgets to ensure successful delivery
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to engineering staff
- Preparing and reviewing plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates
- Ensure compliance with building design and codes and standards.
- Utilize energy & loads modeling software as well as AutoCAD and Revit/BIM for layout and modeling of MEP systems.
- Perform load and ventilation calculations, duct, piping, and plumbing design, system selections, energy modeling.
- Coordinating with clients, agencies, stakeholders, and multidiscipline staff to ensure project success
- Conducting construction oversight and administration as needed
- Leading business development efforts, including proposal writing and client engagement

You will lead and manage a variety of projects, including:
- HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, and Air-Conditioning)
- Sanitary and Domestic Plumbing Systems Design
- Heating & Cooling Central Plant, Distribution, & Building Hydronic Systems
- Air Distribution, Industrial Ventilation & Heat Recovery Systems
- High Performance Sustainable Building Systems & Energy Engineering
- Federal Government facilities (e.g., U.S. Air Force projects)
- Health Care Special Systems
- Laboratory Special Systems
- Commercial, Industrial, Educational facilities etc.
What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking an experienced leader with strong technical and project management skills. The ideal candidate will have:
- B.S. or M.S in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering with a Mechanical focus (M.S. preferred) from an accredited university
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in MT required
- 5+ years of experience in MEP consulting and design of building mechanical systems.
- Must have in-depth knowledge on application of:
- International Mechanical Code
- Uniform and International Plumbing Codes
- International Fuel Gas Code and NFPA 54
- International Energy Conservation Code
- International Building Code
- Proven leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing projects and teams
- Strong client relationship management and business development experience
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and deliver high-quality work on schedule
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able/willingness to visit construction sites and spend 5-10% of the week outside the office.
- Experience living or working in Montana is a plus
